Day of Consultation After
arriving at Hunter Laser Vision for your consultation you will be greeted at reception
and asked to complete a brief patient questionnaire and confirm your details.
You will then undergo initial visual testing. This includes
sophisticated corneal mapping and auto refraction to help determine your ocular
status and suitability for refractive surgery. You will then
meet your surgeon who will perform a comprehensive ophthalmic examination. The
health of the eye is fully examined. You will be provided with an explanation
of laser refractive surgery, its benefits, alternatives and possible consequences.
At the next stage of your consultation you will be shown Hunter
Laser Vision's consent video. After viewing the video your
surgeon will discuss your suitability for refractive surgery. A
friendly counselling session concludes your visit to Hunter Laser Vision Day
of Surgery Forty five minutes before the procedure you will
be offered a sedative to relax you. Shortly before the procedure
you will be taken to the operating area where you will be prepared for treatment
and anaesthetic drops will be instilled in your eyes. Next
you will be directed into the laser room for treatment. The procedure takes approximately
10 minutes each eye. At the completion of treatment you will
be taken to the recovery area. Your surgeon will check your eyes before releasing
you and giving instructions on overnight care of your eyes. You will return for
your first post op visit the next day. |
